Opioids can quickly lead to addiction and carry a high risk of overdose. Opioid use disorder has developed more rapidly in the last few decades, largely due to the widespread proliferation of opioids for pain management before their addictive potential was fully understood. Medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder can help individuals stay in treatment longer, which improves recovery outcomes and reduces the risk of overdose. Our locations offer specialized support services that include personalized care, counseling, and relapse prevention strategies to guide individuals safely through their journey.

Treatment Options for Addiction Recovery

Medical Detox
Withdrawal symptoms are often a major factor in whether or not someone relapses back into drug abuse once they have decided to get clean. This means that withdrawal can be dangerous and even fatal if done without any medical support. Medically-assisted detox programs are designed specifically to support people going through withdrawal, providing psychological support, medications to help individuals cope with drug cravings (when deemed appropriate), and immediate medical support (or mental health services) if the person’s body reacts dramatically without the presence of the substance.
Inpatient Treatment
For people with severe addictions, dependence on more than one addictive substance, or who have previously tried to get sober without success, inpatient treatment is often the best option. Also referred to as residential treatment, this option involves the person living at a specialized treatment facility while focusing fully on their own recovery. This is what is usually meant when someone says they’re “going to rehab.” It can have a higher rate of success if there are risk factors for relapse in the person’s life, such as close relationships with others who are healing from substance abuse.
Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs)

For people seeking treatment for substance use disorder but who don’t require the services offered at a residential treatment program, a partial hospitalization program can provide much of the same support. Individuals will still receive medical support as patients from addiction services, as well as case management support. But they will be able to return home after receiving and participating in substance use disorder resources.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs)

Substance use disorder can impact anyone, even people with stable home situations who keep up with personal responsibilities. An intensive outpatient program (IOP) speaks directly to people who feel that they can’t step away from “normal life” to work on overcoming addiction. Intensive outpatient programs offer flexible scheduling to accommodate individual needs. Individuals work on recovery during the day (usually for several hours) and can leave for work, family obligations, or any other necessary tasks.

Telehealth Addiction Treatment

If access to addiction resources is a concern, telehealth support can help fill in the gaps for individuals seeking support. Virtual therapy sessions are available for those who prefer remote treatment. Online and phone-based services make it easier for people to access recovery resources for themselves and their families. People who live great distances from treatment centers, live with social anxiety disorder, or have accessibility concerns can all benefit from telehealth services offered by Lumina Recovery.

Sober Living

If someone is exiting a drug addiction program, they may worry about relapse once they re-enter their previous living arrangement. Sober living homes serve as transitional housing for individuals moving from residential care to independent living. A sober living home can provide support on a day-to-day level and connect individuals with others undergoing treatment and/or recovery from unhealthy substance use. People will live within a community that is also facing addiction, and can receive targeted addiction support and resources during a crucial period of recovery.
