• Mental Health History: Understanding your mental health history is crucial, as addiction often co-occurs with mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and trauma. We’ll work with you to map out a comprehensive treatment plan that includes mental health care, if needed.
• Addiction Treatment History: If you have undergone addiction treatment before, we’ll gather information about your previous experiences to ensure we build on what has worked for you and make improvements where necessary.

Insurance Verification

Insurances We Accept

Lumina Recovery works with several insurance providers, including:

• Aetna
• Blue Cross/Blue Shield
• Cigna

A note about marketplace plans: Insurance plans purchased through the healthcare marketplace (healthcare.gov) must provide coverage for:

• Substance use disorder treatment
• Behavioral health treatment, such as counseling and psychotherapy
• Mental health inpatient services

If you live in California and have a healthcare plan through Covered California (the state’s healthcare marketplace), your health plan must cover the services above. Additionally, marketplace plans can’t deny you coverage or charge you more just for pre-existing conditions, including mental health and substance use disorder conditions.

Even if you didn’t purchase your health plan through the Covered California marketplace, both state and federal laws require health plans to provide treatment for mental health and substance use disorder conditions (as per California’s Mental Health Parity Act, amended in 2020).
